It takes courage to face one's life. Looking inward to see, feel, and speak one's experience is a daring and powerful path towards greater understanding, healing, and growth. As a psychologist, I offer a reflective space where individuals risk becoming more present and meaningfully connected to themselves and others.
I have extensive experience dealing with anxiety, depression, chronic mental illness in the schizophrenia, psychotic and bipolar spectrums as well as addiction issues. One of the most valuable parts of my training has been spending 17 years in my own therapy, an invaluable tool that very few others have. True winners get help! I am also fluent in French and Greek.
I specialize in therapy that focuses on increasing your awareness of ways you may unknowingly repeat unhealthy patterns that you learned early in life. Our work, may allow you greater freedom from your past and thus greater choice in how you live today.
Depending on your preferences and needs, we may decide to work together briefly to get through a current challenge or longer-term to resolve longstanding difficulties and achieve lasting results. I encourage you to schedule an initial complementary 30-minute phone or Skype consultation to clarify your needs and we can decide together how to proceed.
You can get out of depression or anxiety and start to be in a place where you feel safe, hopeful, and assertive. You can have the loving relationships you need and deserve. You can find the right, prosperous career. Psychotherapy can also help pull you out of an addiction.
No one succeeds if you are alone in life. We all need help. Working together, we can use psychotherapy to bring about the fulfillment of your goals. You don’t have to be alone in facing your problems. You might have already found that being alone during challenging times in your life, left you feeling overwhelmed and stuck. Most people feel that way.
We all experience life’s up and downs and generally manage to cope. Life-changing events like catastrophic illness or injury, a career change, job-loss or retirement, the death of a loved one or the loss of a partner through divorce or separation often drastically changes how we feel about our life and who we are as people.
Ideally, these events can give us a sense of wisdom as well as a deeper knowledge about ourselves. Often times however, they hold us back, limiting our life in ways that can seem like an unending struggle with depression, shaking our self-confidence, and undermining our self-esteem.
While growing up, we learn by trial and error and by emulating our loved ones. The problem with this style of learning is that family members inevitably have their own set of challenges and blind spots. We, of course learn the good as well as the bad. What we learn can have a major impact on how we perceive the world and critically shapes the way we think and feel about ourselves. Furhermore, it radically colors our relationship with money and success as well as fundamentally influences how we treat and allow others to treat us.
If you are tired of living this way and are ready to make a change, I can help you identify and stop destructive patterns of behavior. As a team, we can replace these behaviors with healthy, self-affirming ones that support you and your goals. When consistently applied, these positive changes will solidify your self-esteem and sense of efficacy, they will pave the road to achieving the quality of life you want and deserve.
Take the first step in redesigning your life to be what you want it to be and give yourself the gift of happiness. You can do it and I can help you get there.
Please keep in mind that I offer evening and weekend appointments for your convenience in addition to a complementary 30-minute initial phone or Skype consultation. Call or email me today to get started on your new journey, your life is waiting...
